History is in the making with Kaiser’s recent grand opening of their most advanced facility.
Combining cutting-edge technology with a focus on prevention, the new Lancaster Kaiser facility has achieved quite a number of “firsts”. It’s the first Kaiser Permanente building to implement a sustainable energy with the building’s configuration and orientation designed to take full advantage of the prevailing wind and climate conditions of the Antelope Valley. It's also the first Kaiser Permanente building to qualify for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The 136,000 square-foot state-of-the-art Kaiser medical facility will utilize solar water heating and use reclaimed water to operate building fixtures as well as for landscape irrigation. The Kaiser medical facility has three major procedure rooms, a chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusion center, an outpatient pharmacy, and 66 provider offices.
As part of the grand opening, Kaiser demonstrated their continued commitment to health and the local community by awarding $139,000 to 10 local community organizations and donating land to the city of Palmdale that will be used for a major public works project in east Palmdale to widen roads and make room for bike paths.

Nearly half a million square feet of new hospitals have been constructed in the Antelope Valley in just the last two years. From the High Desert Multi-Service Ambulatory Care Center (HD MACC) to the City of Hope Cancer and Community Education Center these new hospitals bring in nearly half a billion dollars in development costs alone. In a growing community, before building a hospital, complex studies are conducted to make sure there is enough population growth to warrant new medical facilities; the results are obvious...the area is growing rapidly!
