Palmdale is poised to become the only city in the country with two high-speed rails.  The California High-Speed Rail will link Los Angeles to San Francisco and the XpressWest will link Los Angeles to Las Vegas; both rail systems will stop at the Palmdale Transportation Center.

XpressWest has virtually all of the planning and permitting complete including authorization from the U.S. federal government, approvals from the Surface Transportation Board, and a completed environmental review.  The single greatest barrier to starting constructions has been a lack of capital.

​In September, the XpressWest announced that China’s largest train maker, China Railway International, will not only be partnering to build the Las Vegas high-speed rail system but will also be investing $100 million into the project.  Construction is scheduled to begin as early as September 2016.

​Although the XpressWest mentions linking Las Vegas to Los Angeles, they will only have three stops: Palmdale, Victorville, and Las Vegas.  Once in Palmdale, an XpressWest rider can take the Amtrak/Metrolink or California High Speed rail to Los Angeles or vice versa.  The XpressWest is expected to whisk riders from Los Angeles to Las Vegas within 80 minutes, a fraction of the 4-hour drive it currently takes.  Put another way, a person from San Franciso could ride the California High-Speed Rail to Palmdale and the XpressWest to Las Vegas in less time than it currently takes someone to drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas; a true game changer.  A roundtrip ticket on the XpressWest is expected to cost around $89 and the Las Vegas experience is expected to start in Palmdale with innovative concepts allowing riders to book shows, dinner reservations, and hotel rooms and there will be multiple entertainment options including wifi as well as a bar all on board the train.  Every train will have state of the art amenities.

There is so much growth and development happening right now in the Antelope Valley that it would be difficult, even for novice investors, not to make a fortune.

​Just last week, the Pentagon awarded the HUGE $55 billion Long-Range Strike Bomber (LRS-B) contract to Northrop Grumman.  The LRS-B would replace the B-52 bomber, which is more than 50 years old, and the B-2 bomber, which is more than two decades old.

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter said, “[The LRS-B] would extend our ability to reach any target around the world.  Building this bomber is a strategic investment in the next 50 years. It demonstrates our commitment to our allies, and our determination to potential adversaries, making it crystal clear that the United States will continue to retain the ability to project power throughout the globe long into the future.”

Air Force Chief of Staff General Mark A. Welsh III said, “The LRS-B will provide flexibility as a dual-capable
bomber, carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons.  The capabilities of the LRS-B will ensure the United States is able to hold any target on the globe at risk.”

More “First Flight” milestones have been made in the Antelope Valley than in any other place in the world.  That is why many refer to the Antelope Valley as the Aerospace Valley; the world’s premier aerospace location.  The LRS-B is expected to bring over 1,000 engineering jobs to the Antelope Valley, specifically the Northrop Grumman facility located at Air Force Plant 42 (AFP 42) in Palmdale, and up to 6,500 jobs throughout Southern California to Northrop Grumman and suppliers.
